OCNZ and ACC Registered Osteopath
M.Ost, B.App.Sci (HB)
As an osteopath I view the body as a "global unit". As such I will attend to your area of complaint, but also the underlying cause of your condition. I look "outside of the box" taking an alternative approach to solving your problem. As an alternative practitioner I will look beyond the presenting problem and consider other contributing factors such as; how your foot, knee & hip effect your low back problem. Your occupational, sports, fitness, DIY, and other activities are also checked to see if there is a link between them and your problem. I have excellent working relationships with the local medical practitioners as well as the other practitioners at Pure Healthcare. So, if your problem is something I cannot help you to resolve, I can refer you to someone who can. Ultimately it is my goal to works towards getting you better, and back to your daily activities, with enhanced performance in life and sports.
My personal passion is boxing. I have had the honour to work with boxing athletes to help to resolve injuries and to enhance their fitness & performance in the ring. I strongly believe that the body has the ability to heal itself and it just needs the right guidance from an excellent sports osteopath. I have worked with other recreational athletes from other sports as well. These same principles also work with "occupational athletes". People who need a strong and healthy body to make a living.
I earned my Master’s degree in Osteopathy from Unitec in Auckland. I practiced at Papakura Osteopaths before relocating to Pure Healthcare to be part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Apart from boxing, I enjoy spending time with friends and going on outdoor hikes and reading. I am a registered Osteopath with the Osteopathic Council of New Zealand who hold a current Annual Practicing Certificate. I am an ACC registered provider, and there is no need for a GP referral, as I can initiate an ACC claim number in appropriate situations.
