There are three types of care that you may choose to evolve through:

1. Acute Phase

This is the care you receive to relieve pain and increase mobility when you are in pain and wanting relief. This is sometimes called relief care.

In your case, we will outline what we recommend in terms of frequency of visits and for how long. We will then re-assess how you are doing and make further recommendations for you to consider. The findings from your progress exam determine this.

Simply being out of pain does not mean that things have healed and will not return. In most cases, our patients elect to continue with care to stabilize the spine to prevent recurrence of the problem.

This is called the...

2. Stabilization Phase

This is the care you receive to stabilize and balance your body.  In this phase, you may not be in as much pain, but we still find altered function and imbalance in your body with our analysis that requires further care.  Following your re-assessment, we will review your progress, and make further recommendations regarding the type and frequency of care we recommend.  This commonly involves a decrease in frequency of care for a few weeks. At the end of this phase, we will conduct a second re-assessment and make further recommendations. At this point you are “released from active care” for your condition and we discuss the way forward to enhancing your health.

Following the second re-assessment we will discuss the final phase of care...

3. Wellness Phase

By the time you are ready for wellness care, you will have come to appreciate how care can benefit you beyond pain relief. Based on this new knowledge, you may choose to come in for a health/spinal check on a periodic basis to identify any underlying imbalance that we can attend to as a preventative measure. As the wise saying goes… “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”. Our patients who elect for wellness care come in for a visit about once per month.

We use a variety of therapeutic techniques that are chosen based on the individual needs of the patient. You can review the Chiropractic, Osteopathic, Acupuncture or Massage Techniques on each of the individual pages.
